My Missingno. seems a bit weirder than the others. It's psychic type, but weak against fire and psychic types. Also, I try training it, but it keeps going back and forth between level 98 and level 100. It never stays at one spot when I use it in so many battles.

Also, every so often it changes types. It went from Psychic to Fighting to Grass/Poison.

A couple of things:
1.) By Missingno., do you mean a pokemon called MissingNo. from red and blue? If not, it would depend on the species of glitch pokemon
2.) Are you using any hacks? Any cheats or hacks could possible change how it worked.
If you are talking about MissingNo. and are not using any hacks, no, that is not normal.

It's Missingno. from Red version. I can't remember if it's the Ghost or one of the fossil versions, but it's not the glitchy block version.
Also, I never use Gameshark. Personally, I hate its very existance.

I cannot think of any other cause for all this happening except some sort of game corruption. I may be wrong, as it could be some odd glitch, but this has never happened to me on any of the MissingNo. forms, including the different sprite trio (Ghost, Kabutops fossil, and Aerodactyl fossil). You should probably get another source of feedback before you attempt to do anything to fix it.
EDIT: Well, you learn something new every day.

I've done the Missingno. glitch many times before in many different forms and I've never lost a save file to it.

Hi Jared, welcome to the forums. The Ghost/Fossil Missingno. act differently to other Missingno. Their out of battle types change based on the Pokémon at the bottom of the party, or otherwise the Pokémon directly above it. Somehow, you can make it so that the actual in-battle type doesn't match. For example, you can switch Mewtwo to the bottom of the party to make it a Psychic type, but by doing a few things which I'm unsure of how to replicate precisely, I believe you can change the actual in-battle type, for example I once had a Psychic type Aerodactyl Fossil Missingno. but the game took it as a Ground/Rock type in battle because it recently loaded Rhydon into memory. This is reminiscent of the Q trick/Pokémon merge trick where half of the species byte is changed (the one that determines the palette and in-battle type) though I'm not sure if that's the same case here. When that Psychic type Ghost/Fossil Missingno. was sent into battle (the one weak to fire and psychic moves), did you have something like a Venomoth present in the party? Also when you do this, it changes Ghost/Fossil Missingno.'s base stats and TM/HM compatability; you can notice the former by feeding it rare candies when say Chansey is switched above it, switching it with something with a lower base max HP then watching it's HP fall. The box trick also affects this as expected, where it may 'update' the stats if you switched other Pokémon around and then deposited the Missingno. I suspect that the changing levels were probably down to different experience groups for different Pokémon the Missingno. loaded its data from, though I haven't really tried that when switching Pokémon around, so I can't be too sure. You might want to check out the forums at www.glitchcity.info/forums, which are back online again and no longer require a beta login, as I suspect the temporary forum probably isn't going to be used as much anymore. Hope that helps! (Sorry for the relatively late response)
