We are all familiar with the Safari zone glitch in R/B/Y. Well I was thinking, what if we did this glitch and the last step was in front of an unbattled trainer? Or how about on the stairs? Walking past security guards who ask to see your badge? Also, would these be any different between R/B and Yellow? Right now I'm working on this with Red and I'll see what happens.
Also, what causes the glitch in G/S Trainer house? The one where you battle a glitched trainer.

You brought up a good point, what if it was in front of a trainer who walks from the edge of the screen? Would this cause an escape glitch I wonder?

Well I tried the Safari Zone glitch with my last step being in front of an unbattled trainer. Once with the trainer having to come to me and another with me completely in front of the trainer with no space. Nothing happened on either account.
I also tried it with my last step being one that's forced (like when you step in front of Cinnabar's gym w/out the key). It didn't work when my last step was in front of the gym or when it was the forced step.

With the trainer that had to walk, did you try it in the same way as the escape [mew] glitch?

Unfortunately no, the steps which trigger Trainer dialogue boxes do not count as either Safari Zone steps or 'Poison' steps, even if you try to used a Trainer that has to walk up to you first. It doesn't work with the Pokémon League guards either, though I'm not sure about the walk with no Pokémon trick. However, in certain circumstances the P.A. message will override a message boxes, and cause side effects later. There's one example of a minor glitch (found by 'Chamale') where if you land your final Safari Zone step on the NPC who asks whether you want to quit the Safari Zone, the 'out of Safari Zone steps' message is prioritised, but for some reason this causes the music remains muted until you walk to another route. Also, as fatman found if you perform the Safari Zone trick, and then exploit Trainer-Fly glitch, and happen to land the last Safari Zone step where e.g. a level 7 Mew would appear. The P.A. message overrides the start menu, which actually changes the encounter for when you return to Lavender Town (it was one of the normal Lasses on Route 8) and causes some additional side effects. Entering mat entrances, and exits doesn't count at all as steps but IIRC the last time I tried walking into a door it does lower your step counter, and you're essentially given an extra step if it's your last one (1/500), because the P.A wouldn't ring and you'd have 0/500. However, one more 'real' step excluding doors and you're taken back to the entrance as usual. PRAMA Initiative, a French glitch website says that you get stuck in the door but this was not the case, so either I did something wrong or it's a strange regional differences like the 'extended surf glitch' working in Spanish Red/Blue but not English version. Relatively recently, it was found that you could abuse the way random encounters override Trainer battles. If you walk up to a Trainer in a grass patch or a cave, get a random encounter and then lose, it's basically the same thing as the 'Trainer-Fly' glitch but you replace flying/digging/teleporting/escape roping with blacking out. That way, you can get some relatively rare Pokémon at that point before you even acquire the first badge, or abuse the experience underflow glitch to get Level 100 Pokémon before Brock. I had a thought of entering a floor on the Silph Co. elevator and then getting taken back to the Safari Zone before walking out, would you bypass the entrance, go straight to your floor and maybe be able to 'trespass' through one of the doors if you were to walk out of one of the warp pads? I tried once walking out of bounds via no-clipping glitch on the last Safari Zone step thinking it would probably do something, but unfortunately it was just a regular freeze as normal.
I do not know exactly why it happens, but it always happens when viewing invalid glitch Unown that cause a glitch dimension. Without cheating, glitch Unown can be acquired by obtaining a ?? (FF) from the bad clone trick, putting it to the top of the party and manually causing a memory conflict with for instance DC24 (first Unown/11th "Pokémon"'s max PP for fourth move) when you withdraw over 7 Pokémon. Apparently as well, according to 'glitchchampion' making a trade or a real Mystery Gift and then changing the clock back, will cause an invalid Trainer House trainer to appear. I haven't got around to trying it yet. gtg TBC later
