I've been trying the missingno. trick in my pokemon green version, the problem is I cannot seem to get missingno. to appear, is it not in the game or something?

I haven't seen it myself but from what I've read MissingNo. is indeed in the Japanese Red/Green, although it's totally different than the English version.

It is possible that your name doesn't fit missingno.'s thousands of data spots. Assuming the glitch works. Do you get any different pokemon to appear at all?

Hi, welcome to the forums! Missingno. (けつばん Ketsuban) does exist within Pocket Monsters Red and Green, although the Old Man Trick doesn't work in Red/Green; when you surf along the right side of the coast, no Pokémon will ever appear there. This unfortunately remains true even if you use the Safari Zone no-clipping glitch to walk across the coast. The (initial) CoroCoro Pocket Monsters Blue is the basis for our Red/Blue's engine, so I'm guessing that a flaw in the upgraded engine might have happened there somewhere, although I haven't tested whether the Old Man Trick works in Pocket Monsters Blue yet and it might just be something in the translated versions. To encounter Missingno. in Red/Green you can use the Trainer-Fly trick with the last Special loaded into memory as one of those corresponding with Missingno. (you can just have Ditto copy your Special as normal) however bear in mind that some Japanese Missingno. seem to freeze the game like Missingno. can on Yellow, so I'd advise using 182 (Kabutops Fossil), or 183 (Aerodactyl Fossil) which won't freeze the game and still duplicate items. A little known fact; for some reason there are only 38 different Ketsuban in Red/Green, as the Ghost form has a different name (i.e. not Ketsuban). Though it's still a dex:00 variant so you can still use it to duplicate items. Edit: Yeah this one is actually called GHOST in Japanese (ゴースト) and not Ketsuban (けつばん) it stays GHOST even when you catch it unlike Trainer-Fly Marowak. If you want to safely get any Missingno. without duplicating your items, then you can use the fossil conversion select button glitch with the total experience of the Pokémon as one of the index numbers modulo 256. Incidentally, for some reason in the Spanish (and some other) Red/Blue the Old Man Trick partially doesn't work; (you encounter just normal Pokémon) but when you use the Safari Zone no clipping glitch to walk across the coast instead of Surfing then you'll encounter Pokémon as usual, but unfortunately in Red/Green no Pokémon seem to appear on the coast regardless.) Hope that helps.

Thank for your help on this matter. I do know about some Ketsuban/Missingno. freezing the game because using the trainer-fly trick I have encountered a few of those...
