^ A video of me doing the glitch in Pokemon LeafGreen.
Anyway, this is quite a significant glitch in Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire, LeafGreen, FireRed and Emerald Versions which results from use of the Pomeg glitch. It allows the player to view the status screens of Pokemon beyond the sixth slot in battle, without having to use any hacking devices. The status screens of some Pokemon can cause glitchy effects.
How to get a Pokemon with ?35 HP (this is necessary to perform the glitch):
1) In Pokemon Emerald, get a Pokemon that is around Lv.40 or more. Have around 10 HP Ups and a few Pomeg berries in your bag.
2) Use HP Ups on your Pokemon until its HP rises by 2 or more. Then, reduce that Pokemon's HP to 1 (1/138 etc.), and use a Pomeg berry. One of the best ways to reduce HP to 1 is to poison the Pokemon, and slowly lower its health outside of battle.
To do the glitch:
1) Have a Pokemon with ?35 HP in the first slot of your party. (If you are playing in R/S/FR/LG, this involves having such a Pokemon traded to your game.)
2) Have 4 fainted Pokemon/EGGs in your party.
3) Have another Pokemon in the last slot of your party that you can switch into.
4) Enter a battle and switch the Pokemon with ?35 HP with your other Pokemon, then exit the battle.
5) Put the Pokemon you switched into in the PC, and then use a Potion-type item to 'heal' your ?35 HP Pokemon to 0 HP. (This cannot be done in Ruby & Sapphire, so you will need to use a HP Up in a certain way to do this instead in those games.)
6) Enter a battle, and look at the status screen of one of your fainted Pokemon, then exit it. Scroll down until the 'cancel' button is fully lit, then scroll up. You will be able to scroll through an inventory of a whole bunch of glitch Pokemon.
If you scroll up really far, eventually the game either crashes or resets. I counted, and it's about 150 places up that this happens.
The glitch was discovered by a member of the Hall of Origin forums called Voltage. One thing he/she also found was that the summary screen of the first glitch Pokemon in the list causes the sprite of a wild Pokemon to turn into a discoloured Decamarks, and throwing a Poké Ball causes the result of the thrown ball (Aargh! Almost had it! etc.) to be shown before the ball shakes.
When you try to switch into any of these Pokemon in FR/LG/E, you cannot, because they have 0/0 HP, or are EGGs. I have a feeling that this may not necessarily be the case in R/S, however; data beyond the sixth slot in those games seems to be more randomised. There could be plenty of Pokemon that are not fainted and that you are able to switch into. I can't test this at the moment, because my Sapphire is lost and I lent my Ruby to a friend who hasn't given it back yet.
