I was messing around with Lg- today in my Yellow, and it's a very interesting item. If you use it during a wild Pokemon battle (except for when you are fishing, and when a Pokemon is encountered using the Mew glitch) the battle ends and the screen is messed up (but can be fixed slightly by looking at a Pokemon's status screen, or you can fix it altogether by saving and resetting). Could there be a use to this that we haven't seen? I noticed something else. Another minor utility for Lg - in Yellow, is catch a Ditto anywhere and win a trainer battle without fight. Using Lg- in a wild battle the wild battle apparently ends, but the game assumes that the battle still continues, after in the overworld if you use a Pokéball is possible catch the previous wild Pokémon, if you use a Pokéball again this time a Ditto is caught. If after catch to Ditto you battle with a trainer, if in the trainer battle you throw a Pokéball, the trainer blocks the ball and the battle instantly ends, then the game assumes that the battle was won.

I performed the glitch and walked to the badge check building to get the same result as you; the no-clipping side effect deactivated after entering the door. This may not be anything new, but I was messing around with the walk through walls glitch yesterday and found that it is possible to skip the first badge check point. Starting exactly 1 tile above the door over the entrance building before Route 23 I walked straight up to where Route 23's entrance (exit from the entrance building) would have been. The map changed to Route 23, the walk through walls glitch stopped working then, and I had successfully skipped the 1st badge check without having defeated Brock. The map graphics inside were a bit random but they went back to normal when I left Route 23 to go back inside the entrance building (without talking to the guard), then went back out to Route 23. I didn't have the Cascade Badge so I couldn't go any farther. When I turned back and walked out past the entrance guard he gave me the message you get when you don't have the Boulder Badge and wouldn't let me back the way I came. I'd like to find a way to get to the elite four without any badges, but everything I've tried thus far has failed. Nice find!
