I did text dumps of my Emerald and FireRed ROMs. They aren't 'cleaned up' yet though. goput.it/2al.7z <-- there. Couldn't find the 'buy it or die' text that's meant to be in improperly dumped FireRed ROMs.. I guess I'd need an improperly dumped FireRed ROM too  |

Seems like most of the unused text (like Eggs with Mail and debug stuff) was in Ruby/Sapphire only then? I'm confused about the 'buy it or die' thing, how would the game write the text for a badly-dumped ROM? Something minor, but: "MYSTERY EVENTS MYSTERY EVENTS can't be used while the Wireless Adapter is attached." Mystery Events as opposed to Mystery Gift exists in the Japanese version of Emerald (and all Ruby/Sapphire), but was removed in other localizations of Emerald, because there were no English e-Reader cards to make use of it? (unless I'm mistaken) so would this class as leftover text? This reminds me, several months ago (on some hacking forum which I can't remember) people looked through the Pokémon Black and White ROMs for unused images, and they found something portraying what appears to be a sound-test, unused fonts, the leftover Platinum logo, and various other stuff. The sound-test stuff and fonts are noted on TCRF, with most images here but I can't remember the site where the other images were, I'll try to relocate them. One of the sound-test screenshots:  Edit: My mistake, it was the Japanese Diamond and Pearl logos. Here are the missing screenshots I was talking about, couldn't find the original forum but quickly ran into a PokeCommunity thread talking about the same thing.    ripped by Scarf (note that you can actually trigger this message, translated in localizations, by Action Replay if the game doesn't load right, though I might be confusing it with something else)   ripped by Team Fail. |

i like how the time capsule text is still in firered but finally gone in emerald.
wonder why it took that long to say "nope, guess not"

And as near as I can tell, that text is completely unconfirmed. People talk about it all the time, but nobody’s shown a dump that has it. |
