I was thinking of starting to do this, but I'd like to know if other people have tried. By "hardcore," I mean: - SRing/mass catching/mass breeding for DVs - Stat experience training (you heard me right) Compared to RNGing and EVing, these things are extremely time-consuming. Anybody ever tried?

No and I don't plan on it. But I did attempt one a "run" of RBY. I don't know how to explain it. You have certain rules and restrictions on your gameplay and nonsense.

I think by "HARDCORE" you mean only using Ground, Rock, and Steel types.

I'm currently editing a video of this, if that counts for anything.

Mine's not a TAS. Which video was that, is it your own? Is it tool-assisted? Looks really impressive nevertheless. Mind I ask, how was it done? I used: - the Brockblock trick - the level 1 experience oversight - Missingno/'M item duplication - 255 stack item duplication - Old Man Trick wild pokemon manipulation (the weird name) - Safari Zone pokemon on Cinnebar/Seafoam trick - other stuff I can't think of off the top of my head - lots of noclip glitch - lots and lots of trainer/fly I'm going to try to finish editing the video today because one of my favorite tricking/glitching sites is going permanently read-only tomorrow and I'd like to have this on there, but I've still got at least 3 hours of footage to go through @_@ Edit: well, I guess I shouldn't say it isn't a TAS because it was done on an emulator for recording purposes, but I didn't use any tricks that haven't been done on a vanilla English cartridge.

Using different Glitches in the game...
In Red/Blue and Yellow win the Pokémon League and complete the Pokédex WITHOUT defeat to any Team Rocket member.
Could it be that possible?
Yes, why? not, why?

Using different Glitches in the game... In Red/Blue and Yellow win the Pokémon League and complete the Pokédex WITHOUT defeat to any Team Rocket member. Could it be that possible? Yes, why? not, why? The big ones that come to mind are the last Mt Moon Rocket, the one at the end of Nugget Bridge, and the one who steals TM 28. It is possible to skip the Mt Moon Rocket if you use an escape rope to trainer/fly on the Rocket in the room with TM 01, then use the pokecenter PC to get your menus back, iirc, but the others will need some creativity. Beyond that though, you're pretty much golden. You don't need to go through Silph Co unless you want the Master Ball, you don't need to do the Game Corner because you never need the Silph Scope, and you don't need to do the Pokemon Tower because you never need the Poke Flute. You don't even actually need Giovanni's badge if you're smart about noclip. If nothing else, it's possible to beat the game without ever beating Giovanni.

Yes, I think mount moon would be a problem but other than that it should all be fine. The best TAS does the Pokémon league with 6 badges, you can use walk through walls glitch for that and skip Giovanni.

Actually, there was a warp I found once while doing walk through walls which skipped the entire badge check. I haven't gotten it to work intentionally yet, but I've done it a few times.
Edit: With noclip, you can walk to the right of the Earthbadge checker and skip victory road and the Earthbadge by walking until you see a door/more walkway which leads to the Indigo Plateau. Be sure you are near or on the walkway before you head north or the badgecheck will activate.
You can skip the Cerulean City's Rocket and the Nugget Bridge Rocket after deafeating Misty by trading with someone who has a Pokemon that knows Cut and use the Cut tree to escape Cerulean. This however requires SOMEONE ELSE who defeated Team Rocket members, but for the sake of the runthrough, we'll just say we got it from Pokemon Green using the select glitch? Is it even possible to trade from US R/B/Y to Japanese Green? I know there's some mess ups there with Pokemon/savefiles sometimes, but is it possible to do? What item would you need to make Cut appear in the select glitch?
Well, I guess you could just dotaka's door or w/e it's called to various locations and get a pokemon/item that would give you cut as a move, but how would this translate as a Pokemon to R/B/Y? I guess if we were to find out what Pokemon/Move/Stat combo it would take in Pokemon Green to trade to Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow we could do it without being tethered to someone who has beat Rockets. It would take a lot of trial and error but I think it could be done.
So let's have a recap.
Mt. Moon Rockets 100% skip-able via TM01 rocket and a lot of preparatory fighting due to if you fight a trainer, you're done for.
Nugget Bridge/Cerulean Rocket: Needs testing with Pokemon Green to R/B/Y trading for a stable Pokemon with Cut.
Game Corner rockets skip-able by using PokeDoll or whatever the escape glitch used.
Sliph Co is able to be skipped by using noclip.
Giovanni is able to be skipped by using noclip (along with victory road).
The Pokédex is able to be completed using noclip and ditto tricking.
If my method for Nugget Bridge/Cerulean Rocket works then all rockets should be skip-able thus making a Time Paradox.
(Different tests would need to be done for this method for different nationalizations due to RAM locations being different for each one. It'd take a lot of work, but I think it's possible.)

Ok, this requires a double post.
We need to get the Poké Flute but Rockets are in the way. This is the only obstacle left in the way of doing this. I think we need a Pokemon that can mutate an item. This would need to be done in some way so that the Poke flute is obtainable... but the only problem is, we would need someone with a ditto or something that can transform as the Ditto Trick is off limits at this point in the game. If we could do a battle with someone that has a Ditto/Transforming Pokemon obtained from Pokemon Green by doing the select glitch and not getting it by defeating rockets we could possibly be able to encounter the glitch and have it mutate an item. This would require a lot of research as higher up values result in glitch trainers that sometimes crash the game. If you're able to beat the glitch trainer then the Pokemon should be marked as seen in the "Pokedex"and mutate an item in a slot. The question is, can link battles be USED for the Ditto Trick? I don't think you can save in a link battle. Well, since that is the case, the answer is no.
At this point in the game, you are able to do the Escape Glitch with three different trainers or more. We only need one of these mutating Glitch Pokemon to be encountered. Now I know raising or lowering a stat messes with the Pokemon encountered, but can this be used to raise or lower an encountered Pokemon's special stat? If it can, we can abuse this with four different trainers until we find a glitch that can mutate the item into a Pokeflute.
But this may be too complicated. Are there spearows at this point that are able to use Mirror move? If so, we can have someone trade over a ditto/mew or something that knows transform from Green to R/B. The special stat would need to be raised to a super high level which means a lot of grinding would need to be done. Using an Abra obtained from the game corner, we could teleport from one of the trainers and then use the Ditto Trick by having the Ditto transform into the spearow and then having the spearow use mirror move. This may or may not work due to the fact that you're transforming into the spearow instead of the other way around so the special stat may get lost.
Although, does trading a Glitch Pokemon mutate your items? We only need to have either the Surfboard to get around the Snorlax or the Pokeflute.
tl;dr: Every other rocket is skip-able, but we need the Pokeflute but cannot get around the Rockets blocking Mr. Fuji. A work around would be to encounter or trade over an item mutating Pokemon, but is this possible? Does the item mutate still if it is traded? Some Pokemon would be E1 E5 and E8 in R/B and C2 CA and DE in Yellow. The feat seems to be more possible in Yellow due to the lower special needed.
Edit: F1 in R/B is able to mutate items when added to the Pokedex/caught/traded. So it is possible to get the Pokeflute with it. F1 I think sets Bit 5 of the item 4 slot. This translates to $10 in hex. So an item with hex $F5 (a TM) or $10 below the Pokeflute would be needed in the 4th slot during the trade.
