NOTE: Effective October 15, 2011 the "Ebullient Emolga" limited-access beta test program is over. Glitch City Laboratories will reopen along with Operation Time Capsule no earlier than October 17, 2011 and no later than October 24, 2011.
Thanks to everyone who participated in "Ebullient Emolga." As a token of appreciation, all non-ranked members who participated and logged in during the test period are hereby promoted to Member+. These members are: Pawny, SnorlaxMonster, blahpy, Ketsuban, eric the espeon, Theorymon, and Missinnown.
There may or may not continue to be changes, renovations, and adjustments made after the websites are reopened. This is more or less a semi-private beta test. It's closed because I don't want to give the impression the site's open yet, but beta testing is available for anyone who explicitly wants to beta test. Yes, GCL is right back on the server, and it's undergoing stress testing. A big part of the glitchdex reengineer was to make it run more efficiently on our server, and we're about to see how well it paid off. Both the forum and wiki require a beta login that's not connected to a forum account, so anyone who'd like beta access to GCL can post here or PM me and I'll assign a username/password... or you could request a username/password, whichever you prefer. Of course, the site and forum are at glitchcity.info/wiki and forums.glitchcity.info respectively. This is the current todo list for GCL. It contains both technical tasks and more abstract policy suggestions (such as rank system, board reorganizations and whatnot). glitchcity.info/emolga.html As always, input is welcome, especially for the second list of suggestions.

so anyone who'd like beta access to GCL can post here or PM me and I'll assign a username/password yeah i'll bite and go for this option. as long as both are not some variant of 'dongs'. e: christ, how long does it take to think of these project names.

e: christ, how long does it take to think of these project names. Not very long actually. My new naming scheme is alliterative adjective + pokemon. One of the other projects I'm working on (which will eventually concern GCL) is called the Knowledgeable Kadabra.

I'd like an account, if you don't mind.
Also I have never played a Pokemon game outside of Blue because there's like 800 pokemon now, and Blue has all the glitches

It contains both technical tasks and more abstract policy suggestions (such as rank system, board reorganizations and whatnot). glitchcity.info/emolga.html As always, input is welcome, especially for the second list of suggestions. That's great! I noticed the other day that trying to enter the Wiki brought up that log-in prompt, because I hardly ever type profglitch.proboards.com and use a bookmarked www.glitchcity.info/wiki instead. I have a couple of questions regarding that, are these log-ins separate to our Wiki account, and secondly do we have to make an account again? I was also wondering whether the whole revision histories, are preserved from the Wiki before the site went down? I would love to contribute to the Wiki again, so I'd like to join up please. There's some things I regret, like uploading low quality screenshots and I really want to amend that and to be frank there were some things like the Black Belt gibberish 'glitch' which I elaborated about only from observation. I really apologize for that, and the good news puts me in the mood for some cleanup. Other than the suggested NIWA affiliation/potential membership I recall that Redstar of RAGECANDYBAR was interested in affiliating with us. The same Redstar is a regular Mario Wiki contributor; perhaps we should send him a talk page message to ask whether he is still interested in the affiliation. RE: NIWA :- I recall that Xizor, who is one of the niwanetwork.com coordinators suggested that partnership with Zelda Chaos first, to possibly widen both of our scopes and strengthen our status as a glitch Wiki. Last February, I posted on their forums, and Death99 who is one of the administrators at Zelda Chaos was quite happy with affiliation in theory. I do not know what we think about that. I posted about what Xizor said somewhere on the original glitchcity.info forums in the thread about NIWA itself (where he took it as a potential merge if we wanted to join as a full member, as a 'glitch counterpart' to StrategyWiki), though I don't remember anything much from that, excepting Mugendai questioning whether we really wanted a merge. How is the current status of the server? If everything goes well, perhaps we should consider affiliation with Hall of Origin? This would be good, because we could have interwiki links where we could link to articles and threads about tweaking on Hall of Origin, and Hall of Origin can do the same for us when linking to things about older glitches. I was also thinking that we could consider affiliating with Bulbapedia, to establish a good relationship between Bulbapedia and Glitchcity and help build our recognition. I'm not sure whether using that many levels is such a good idea. Using any further levels other than Member and Member+ could make things arbitrary and subjective, when for instance trying to differentiate from one level and another. I think that the number of boards are fine actually, because all boards on GCL had a good amount of activity and remained used, whereas any abandoned boards such as the GCL fangame project went into the archives board. AAG: I say yes, it was one of the more popular things about the site, and people used to like it (well at least me!). It would be nice to see it return, though would it be a lot of work upgrading it and adding the missing glitch Pokémon sprites? What are Social MW Profiles? Sorry to ask such a simple question.

are these log-ins separate to our Wiki account Yes. This is a totally separate login. I could have made it use forum logins but that would have been more time-consuming. and secondly do we have to make an account again? No. The forums are at the state that they were when they were taken down. All accounts, posts, and PMs are there. I was also wondering whether the whole revision histories, are preserved from the Wiki before the site went down? Everything in the wiki is preserved as well. I would love to contribute to the Wiki again, so I'd like to join up please. There's some things I regret, like uploading low quality screenshots and I really want to amend that and to be frank there were some things like the Black Belt gibberish 'glitch' which I elaborated about only from observation. No need to apologize for anything Other than the suggested NIWA affiliation/potential membership I recall that Redstar of RAGECANDYBAR was interested in affiliating with us. The same Redstar is a regular Mario Wiki contributor; perhaps we should send him a talk page message to ask whether he is still interested in the affiliation. We'll be sure to get back in contact with him after everything's in order, although from looking at RAGECANDYBAR's front page it doesn't seem like they've updated in over a year. I don't believe a merge is in GCL's best interests, and it probably isn't in Zelda Chaos's either. I'd be up for an affiliation, though. We could approach NIWA again when the wiki is back up. If everything goes well, perhaps we should consider affiliation with Hall of Origin? This would be good, because we could have interwiki links where we could link to articles and threads about tweaking on Hall of Origin, and Hall of Origin can do the same for us when linking to things about older glitches. Zowayixx actually did request affiliation with us about a year ago. We can get back in touch with him after the maintenance. However, while I'd like to establish an affiliation with Hall of Origin, I don't want to do it if it means we're typecast as the "older glitches site." Our mandate has, and still does, cover all generations of Pokemon. I was also thinking that we could consider affiliating with Bulbapedia, to establish a good relationship between Bulbapedia and Glitchcity and help build our recognition. Having a good relationship with Bulbapedia would help but I'm not sure they'd want to affiliate with a small/medium site like us. What are Social MW Profiles? Sorry to ask such a simple question. www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:SocialProfileI'm not sure I'm so keen on it myself but I just wanted to throw the idea out there. I do plan to combine the wiki and forum profiles somehow, though, and I know one iteration of the forum had social-networking type profiles.
